If you adore fashion and are on the lookout for innovative ideas for everyday style, cinema is your salvation! Just a heads up, the outfits of Marilyn Munroe and Audrey Hepburn are already a class apart. So, the goal is to focus on outfits one can wear on usual occasions.
1. The Devil Wears Prada
No points for guessing! Ignoring a movie that has ‘Prada’ in its title from this list would have been fashion blasphemy, isn’t it? Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep paved major fashion goals with embellished jackets, collared dresses, and fur coats. Also, please don’t tell me your jaw didn’t drop when Anne Hathaway was handed over Prada, Chanel, and Manolo Blahniks for a ‘quick’ makeover (I’m not crying, you are!).
WHAT TO RAID: Anne Hathaway’s white winter coat, Meryl Streep’s purple dress
2. A Simple Favour
So, it turns out that when Blake Lively is not busy poking fun at Ryan Reynolds, she is actually busy setting fashion goals! While the plot of the movie was outdated, Blake lively as Emily Nelson redefines style with her three-piece suits, vintage hat, walking stick, and housedresses! Blake leaves the fashion police in total awe of her.
WHAT TO RAID: Ralph Lauren 3-piece suit, Samantha Sung dress
3. The Intern
Can we just agree that Anne Hathaway is a complete style icon even in the characters she portrays? The only subtle part of the movie was its sweet storyline because Anne left no stones unturned in owning her look as the ‘girl boss’ of an apparel based e-commerce brand. The outfits for Hathaway in the movie were the perfect embodiment of smart casuals with a pop of color. From blazers to skirts, overcoats, tops, and chic dresses, you cannot miss out on her outfits in the movie!

4. La La Land
Yes, I do realize that the classic yellow floral dress is the first thing that comes to your mind, followed by subtle jazz undertones! But Emma Stone as Mia schooled us on some basic fashion lessons with her choice of outfits. She totally played with colors, donning blue, yellow, gold, and green throughout the movie. To add to it, those A-line cuts ensured that being stylish does not mean burning a hole in your pocket!
WHAT TO RAID: the yellow floral dress (of course!), emerald green outfit, and the coral pink collar dress
5. Nocturnal Animals
No doubt the movie was haunting with its long silences and escalating tension but what added depth to Amy Adams’ character was her choice of outfits throughout the movie. Amy portrays the role of an art gallery owner and her crisp shirts, killer heels, and dark lipsticks speaks volumes of her sense of aesthetics and her obsession with precision. Also, who says it has to be hot red for a dinner date!
WHAT TO RAID: Amy Adams’ green neckline dress, and the BOOTS!!
